Mission Statement for Lia de Lyon Art

At Lia de Lyon Art, my mission is to make art accessible, affordable, and joyful for everyone. My handmade stickers, art prints, and keychains are crafted to add personal, vibrant touches to your spaces, treat yourself, or create heartfelt gifts, all while fitting any budget. Based in Pittsburgh, PA, I’m dedicated to sparking creativity and spreading happiness through every piece I create.

Art has been my passion since I could first hold a crayon. Growing up, teachers and classmates knew me as the artist with a boundless love for color. With the guidance of my incredible art teacher, Mrs. McDonald, I honed my skills through twice-weekly lessons that continue to shape my creative process today. After graduating high school in 2014, I pursued Occupational Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, earning my Bachelor of Science in 2018. In 2016, a pivotal moment changed everything: I painted a piece, shared it on Facebook, and received three purchase offers within hours. That spark ignited Lia de Lyon Art, fueling my drive to share my art and vision with the world.

In 2022, I graduated with a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) from the University of Pittsburgh. Today, I balance my roles as a full-time Occupational Therapist at a Pittsburgh hospital and a passionate artist. My dual mission is to create art that evokes joy and to empower my patients to live independently. Whether through a vibrant sticker or a therapy session, I strive to make a positive impact.

My art has reached exciting milestones: Willow Smith shared my portrait of her on Instagram, I’ve created album covers for musicians (including a The Voice contestant), and my painting videos have gone viral on TikTok. I’m proud to showcase my work at events like Pittsburgh Pride (2022–2023), Reggae Rise Up Florida (2023), Havre de Grace Annual Art Festival (2022), Levitate Music Festival (2023), and WonderBus Music Festival (2023). I’m always chasing new opportunities to connect through art.

As a person, I’m outgoing, friendly, and deeply committed to advocacy. I support causes like healthcare access, voting rights, Black Lives Matter, LGBTQIA+ rights, environmental sustainability, and reproductive rights. I love supporting local Pittsburgh communities, shopping small, and eco-friendly businesses. In my free time, you’ll find me gardening, capturing moments through photography, exploring new restaurants, visiting art museums, or cherishing time with family and friends in the outdoors.
